Europe Day 9

Out of Belgium and into the United Kingdom we go! This post is full of photography of art from the Tate Modern museum and of buildings.

We took an overnight bus via the English Channel hence this scene. Cheap cheap overnight bus tickets Y'ALL!!

One of the first sights that greeted me in the London Tube. Particularly tickled by TDCC and Bonobo.

After checking into our hostel, we braved the cold winds and walked out to find somewhere we could have breakfast at.

The only place we could find which looked decent. It was early hours in the day...

This set me back around S$12? I mean, it was pretty good but pricey. Welcome to London lol

Shakespeare's Globe was a touch and go for me. Onto greater things, like Tate Modern (!!!)

Art with a message to society

No idea what this was except that it looked like a) a mining quarry or b) a giant turd with an army of tiny turdlings

This was unsettling to me

Think it was about the war / conflict in the Middle East

Guess I'm wrong HAHA

Oh my god. I remember this so clearly. Waiting for the darned lift to get to the viewing gallery to get a bird's eye view of London City. Took forever to get up, took forever to come down. Was so annoying.

I'd read about this prior to coming here. This is a real, breathing installation featuring people who actually live in the apartments with glass windows all around so you can look in and see them go about their daily activity. Amazing, right?

The Tube

After spending some time in the museum (not even getting to finish half of all the free exhibits), I accompanied a not-very-pleased KW to find Ben at Chinatown. The new mission was to find and try the infamous Lobster Roll (expensive and not a very large portion). Yet another testimony to London's high costs of living. Perhaps if one drew a paycheck in pounds it would be more sane.

Got the traditional gateway somemore. Although I heard that this part of the city was initially bustling with Chinese immigrant from Hong Kong, hence...

Was VERY pleasantly surprised to find a COCO bubble tea shop!! Got myself a large cup of the classic milk tea even though it was expensive af. It was warm too. So shiok in cold weather.

Okay last picture before I knocked out for that night 😉 Met up with Jon's friends at WM's apartment and these sweets were the bomb man. Also got really high on liquor and other things, like sugaaar.
