"Been a while since you came here."
Ever since July began, I started to panic a little. What things have I not done, what places have I not been to, and what foods have I not eaten in Japan? It was almost as if I suddenly had too many things I wanted to do but not much time left. But I've come to terms with that.
The first thing I did was to try Afuri Yuzu Ramen with Zenia and Ryan at Azabu Juban. The broth was a light chicken soup with a hint of citron, the noodles were of the right texture, and the roast pork was one of the best I've ever had, charred to the right degree.
Glorious |
After ramen, we had food coma. So for class, I got this creamy Au Lait to try. |
Interesting packaging |
One night: a last minute decision to join Leonard, Drusilla, and Klins at Tokyo Tower. |
TOKYO BANANAAAAA |
Had dinner with Klins at this burger place (Island Burgers) near his house. Best burgers I've had since arriving. |
And... tried this taiyaki from a long-standing shop. People were ordering by the dozens, literally! |
Huge-ass Kinokuniya building. I kid you not. |
Happy to be queuing for gyukatsu at Shibuya |
My good foodie buddy |
130g of satisfying goodness |
Crazy long karaoke session with Nam and Ryan. Ryan and I stayed for 7 hours I think. |
Success at making 'ramen' eggs |
Got invited to a random informal tea ceremony. Look at all the cute little ningyo-yakis! They represent faces of the seven lucky gods. |
Another day, another karaoke outing. This one was long-overdue with the J-KRAB crew except K wasn't there :( we sang from 10pm till 3am I think. Was dead tired and could not make it for morning class the next day. Oh well, exchange students ;)
Interior of the Hawaiian themed Moko Moko karaoke place |
Sadly, no Matcha Sandwich Donuts... but I love strawberry pon de rings! |
Katsuya near Mita Station |
Nothing to do, just go Shibuya amirite? Nah, Zenia and I were there for Sweets Paradise cause we got turned down by Mister Donut buffet :( all reservations were full... |
Where did the R go?!?!?! |
On the bright side! Sweets Paradise was running a promotion that day -- only 1,000 yen for the standard buffet! ALL YOU CAN EAT CAKES, PASTA AND MORE! |
The matcha cake at the bottom was one of my favourites. |
Swear these were udon noodles... or just really fat pasta |
Surprisingly, got keropok lol! Anyway, blueberry tart was delish too. |
Can't go wrong with chocolate browniee |
Klins had asked if I wanted to go for any of the Disney Resort Parks. I chose DisneySea because it has more thrilling/adult rides. Post on that coming up soon~ *wink wink*
Pictured: USJ + DisneySea tickets. Ending exchange with a bang. |
I tried making tamagoyaki |
Delicious buta-shogayaki don made by yours truly |
Bought a Rilakkuma teahouse series notebook and they gave me a free themed bag |
Random temple passed by while walking to OK Store at Hiyoshi Honmachi area |
Would you try this? Bacon+carrots+corn+potatoes+veg cereal... |
We couldn't resist black sesame dango |
Tried instant yakisoba -- this was pork curry flavoured. Not bad, but add your own pork slices, mixed veg etc. |
My attempt at wafu pasta. Not bad. Mentaiko was a bitch to remove from the membrane though. |
It's currently finals week and I need to study for my Japanese exams. Stay turned for my recap on the day at DisneySea :)
omg sounds super exciting and the stuff all so cute.
